    Hello there

I’ve been made aware of your site, as well as your movie podcasts, through the blind movie buff mailing list.

I’ve been a blind movie buff myself ever cince childhood, however as audio description is not yet being produced regularly whare I live, the only way I have been able to enjoy movies with description has been in the form of described stuff from the UK, US and Canada.

I always like to collect more described stuff where possible, so I really find it great, that you are making these movies availible to blind people from all over the world!

    Keap up the good work.

    all the best from Allan

hi. i’ve been made aware of this exelent podcast from the same list as allan. thanks for making these avilible to us. descriptions here ein the us are sometimes hard to find. thanks for providing another source. i see that your archives only go back to about ep 17. is their a way i can get a link to the entire list of episodes? i’ve started to listen to ep 28 but i’d like to go back to hear the others also. thanks again.

Thanks, guys, for the kind comments. Matthew: Links to all the archives for all the episodes are in the sidebar, which in a screen reader (going left to right) would follow the main body of the page and starts with “Subscribe!” The archives are separated by month. Also, there is a “previous entries” link at the bottom of the page, listed on a screen reader just before the sidebar begins.

Btw, below the monthly archives in the sidebar are categories of films, if you want to explore the archives that way.

    Hope that helps. Thanks again!

    Hi again Valerie

I’ve now had the oppotunity to have a listen to some of the episodes you’ve posted on here, and I just have to say that I really do think you are dooing a fantastic job!

first and formost, I like the fact that you actually sound like you are enjoying the show you are describing. It is so cool that you actually are using your voice to show your enthusiasm and to help set the right mood for the different scenes.

I’ve heard alot of different descriptions from different companies over the years, and there is absolutely nothing worse than to sit through a movie or tv-show, where the describer sounds like he’d rather be someware else. This can especially be annoying when listening to a great action sequence. All is great, the music and acters are fantastic, however when the describer doesnt also sounds like he/she enjoys the show, I really do think it can become borring very quickly.
It is so great to hear that you have chosen the absolutely best way of dooing it by dramatize when it’s nescecery! great job!

I also had the pleasure of listening to your other podcast on the “description Toronto” website. It really was intresting and also quite funny to have a listen to the concidderations and troubles you had whilst writing the Dootlebobs episode.

Mostly I prefir to watch described stuff with sighted family and friends, and it has very often happende that these friends actually have gotten a little annoyed, simply because the description is not timed all that well to the actual pictures on screen. This of course does mean that my friends would get told about what happens before it actually does.
I indeed like the fact that you and your collegues actually are trying to time the description to the visual events as cloesly as posible, because of course this is what it is supposed to be like!

BTW, do you know if there are any methods of getting hold of more stuff which you or your collegues have produced? by that I of course mean more stuff apart from the movies that are alreddy on here?
as I did mention in my previous comment, I am a huge collecter of described stuff for my personal use, and I’d very much like to get a hold of as much as at all possible.

I do know that stuff is of course availible on canadian television from time to time, however cince I have not yet found someone who can help me out getting hooked up to canadian television here in Denmark, I would really like to know if there are other ways of getting hold of canadian described stuff.

Once again thanks so much for a great service.

    All the best from Allan
