Very nice job of capturing and conveying Rob’s quite acrobatic physical humor – not an easy thing to do with so few narrative strokes. One question: why did Laura warn Rob not to go into the other room with bare feet when he was obviously wearing shoes? Was Laura barefoot? Also, a small point, and I might have missed it, but were the fish animated or real?

Thanks for the kind words! In the scene, Laura was flustered and upset (something Mary Tyler Moore has always conveyed in her voice well) and warned about bare feet as a reflex probably because she’d been worried about Richie going back into the bathroom. As for the fish, they were real – if they had been animated, I would have said so because that would’ve crossed a line of surrealism even farther than what they were already doing.
